Wien." At Candyland Gert Germeraad will show four sculptures from the series 'Depicting Criminals'. The sculptures are abstracts from individuals arrested by the Gestapo. Their names were found in an archive called "Nicht mehr Anonym" (No longer anonymous). This archive contains ordinary people arrested by the Gestapo, between 1939–1944 due to them being considered lazy, having wrong sexual interests or other type of "unacceptable behaviour". Gert Germeraad considers the being simply unlucky people, being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Many of them died in concentration camps, others were never heard of again. This archive shows a wide variety of different people, including immigrants, Jewish and Roma. The archive is open to the public to allow relatives to identify lost family. As a part of the series 'Depicting Criminals', this series contemplates on the idea of the 'criminal identity' as it shifts through time and culture.
