Artist talk kl 19. Öppet lördag–söndag kl 14–17, t.o.m 19 september 2010 Mary Coss och June Sekiguchi från Seattle, USA visar skulptur och fotografi på Candyland. Coss och Sekiguchi intresserar sig båda för varandets natur. Deras arbete manifesteras på olika sätt när de genom sina arbeten beskriver livsresor. Från födsel till död och någonstans däremellan undersöker de hur vi blev till dem vi är, hur vi upplever livet och vad som följer efter att vår fysiska existens tar slut. I de båda världarna blottas historien. Konstnärerna medverkar under vernissagen och håller ett artist talk kl 19, där de berättar vad som inspirerar dem och visar bilder från deras pågående gemensamma arbete med ”The Blood that Runs Through Us”. www.marycoss.com www.junesekiguchi.com www.shiftstudio.org PRESSBILDER Utställningsansvariga Candyland: Malou Bergman och Nadja Ekman Continuing the exchange between Candyland and Shift Studio of Seattle, American artists Mary Coss and June Sekiguchi explore their stories in sculpture at Candyland this fall. Coss and Sekiguchi share the concept of parts of the whole and an exploration of the nature of being. Their work manifests in very different ways, yet they are telling a story of life. From birth to death and somewhere in between this art explores questions of how we become who we are, how we experience the life we live, and what follows after our physical existence ends. In both worlds, elements unfold to tell a story. The artists will be attending the opening of the exhibition and will give an artist talk at the opening 3th of September 19.00. They will discuss their inspiration, their working process, and the relationship between their work.
